Tra:Fo

1984

Growing up in the 80's and 90's with different music influences from his sister and his parents, the young boy finds his own musical taste in the music of Bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine & Korn as well as Massive Attack and The Prodigy, who already lead in the direction of Breakbeats. Later he also gets much influenced by Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Muse and Linkin Park.

1996/97

Tra:Fo discovers Drum&Bass after listening to a mixtape by DJ Hype from Dreamscape '96. He is immediately in love with this music.
By listening to lots of tape packs from the UK as Helter Skelter, Slammin' Vinyl and One Nation he quickly recongizes different mixing techniques in DJ Sets. Therefore DJ Zinc, Andy C, Kenny Ken & Brockie become his favorite DJs.

2000

After visiting some clubs Tra:Fo starts to follow the German Techno Scene, which gives him additional musical influences. He visits many different clubs and events for years always with his ears on the DJ mixes and still watching for the best experienced DJs in the scene.

2003

From the passion for DJ Mixes comes the decision to play records himself. With his first set of cheap turntables Tra:Fo learns by himself to mix techno records in first place and combines many different subgenres in his mixes. For the next years he gets more and more into the harder side of techno while still listening to Drum&Bass and visting several events like One Nation, Dreamland & Renegade Hardware, too.

2006

Tra:Fo returns back to his roots and decides to play exclusively Drum&Bass.
All the money is spend for vinyls from the good old days 1996 - 2001 to be able to play his beloved DNB Classics from his favorite artists such as Ed Rush & Optical, Bad Company, Brockie, Calyx, Cause4Concern, Decoder, Dillinja, Dom&Roland, DJ Zinc, DJ Die, Jonny L, Konflict, Krust, Mampi Swift, Ram Trilogy, Ray Keith, Roni Size, Stakka & Skynet, Teebee, Total Science, ... and many more.

2013

By his strong passion and love for Drum&Bass comes the desire to produce his own tracks and contributing a part to this ever-growing scene. The more Tra:fo is looking for well produced tracks the more ideas for his own tracks come to mind. So he starts to build his homerecording studio and gets used to synthesizers and producion techniques to find ways to produce his own timeless sound.

2014

Tra:Fo also starts organising his own dnb events called 'Outbreak' with a good old friend after contributing the events 'Warp!' and 'Sinking in Bass' with their crews. His sets are now known for the harder side of Drum&Bass which is released on record labels like Blackout Music, C4C Recordings & Eatbrain.

2017

Moving to a new home, building a more professional studio and finally finding more time to concentrate on producing music, Tra:Fo mainly creates samples and presets from different sources in the first place.
Besides playing more festivals and gigs in North Germany and Hamburg on a regular basis, Tra:Fo gets more bookings in other cities of Germany. In the meantime he has performed beside some of his favorite artists such as Audio, Neonlight, State Of Mind, Zombie Cats, Phace & Misanthrop.

2020

Tra:Fo takes a little break from the dnb scene due to the covid pandemic and renews his motivation in making music by getting inspired by other music genres he loves. He also expands his studio for new producing techniques.
