Violet Core

Violet Core knows how to convince with her creative output - She is active as a producer, musician, DJ, label & event owner, studied audio engineering and has been organizing and managing events since 2005. The artist working in different areas of the music industry for over 15 years, stands behind the decks since one decade and has been a musician since childhood. In her teens, she learned bass and electric guitar and at 15 she received a scholarship to one of Hamburg's most prestigious dance, singing and drama schools. She has been active in several band projects, where she was a lead singer and bass player.

Her DJ sets have a unique and infectious vibe that incorporates harder, classic and deeper styles, straight from the darkside of drum & bass. As a producer, Violet Core is active as one half of Scary Woods and solo: She produces also other electronic and analog-experimental music. In 2021, she recorded her vocals for the track „Consciousness“, which was released on DNB Database in collaboration with Bons. As Scary Woods, she is part of the „Wuestensturm Remix EP“ by Giana Brotherz on Basswerk alongside The Green Man, Zardonic and Zombie Cats.

As a booker and promoter, she provides the Hamburg drum & bass scene with some of the most sought after dark and hard drum & bass artists. In 2011 she founded the dark drum and bass event series Bass Forward The Revolution and even brought the worldwide acclaimed Therapy Sessions to Hamburg. Only five years later, she co-founded the drum & bass label Insomnius Music.
