Proton

Carlo Ruetz, the Rostock bred DJ and producer whose career exploded around a decade ago, returns to Senso with a four-tracker of blistering, impactful techno.

Title track Proton, leads the charge - a high octane cut built around an unhinged bassline and ferocious percussion. It’s a sure fire party starter, as is the rest of the EP. X1 starts as a chugging groover, before slowly unfurling into a gnarly example of contemporary techno. Next up is the aptly titled Twisted, which grows into a monster cut through acidic basslines and an insistent, hypnotic groove.

Last but not least is The Edge, another example of Ruetz’s skills in expertly leading a dancefloor. Taking the signature sound design he has become celebrated for, the track finds a tension and release that will go over big with DJs of many persuasions this year.
