Patrik Berg, born in 1985 in Bonn. His parents came to Germany as immigrants, his Father from Syria and his mother from Sweden. She was the one who encouraged him to start his musical education younger than many, after sending him to Music School from just 3 years old. She played the main part of his early childhood, however he struggled with authority, which lead to a troubled period of his life after leaving school and home at the age of 14. Roaming the streets meant contact with drug criminality happened at a young age. It was an issue with the police that made him reconnect with his family, finish school and turn his life around.
Music was the only constant in his teenage years - time alone was spent listening to records from legends including Michael Jackson, Prince and Draft Punk. However, it wasn't until his early 20’s when he experienced a set from Gregor Tresher at Boothaus, that the passion for dance music was solidified. He developed respect and found inspiration in artists including Chris Liebing, DJ Rush and Sven Väth.
Alongside the newfound love for music and raving, he managed to balance it with a passion for cooking, cocktail mixing and fitness. He even went on to win a body building competition at the age of 23, it was a huge part of his life, which is still resonant now.
Studying a bachelor’s degree in audio engineering and music production at the SAE Institute in Cologne, in his spare time he started to produce some of his first tracks.
At the time he was a bouncer at several of the key clubs in Cologne to help finance his studies. After a friend heard some of his music which was uploaded to Soundcloud, he was asked to play at an afterhours every Sunday in the city in 2013. Although saying yes, he has never played to a crowd, so two weeks of intense practice at home began….
Little did he know that gig would then set off his DJ career and lead him to where he is today. Patrik has since played some of the worlds most loved and established festivals and clubs around the world including; Womb in Tokyo, EGG in London, Sisyphos in Berlin, Odonien in his hometown of Cologne.
Powerful, energetic and euphoric are words which have been used when describing his production style. Notable releases came in the form of his ‘My Moog’ track landing on Christian Smith’s Tronic imprint in 2017 which marked his first international release. Shortly followed by his ‘Running Numbers’ EP on Filth On Acid which became a hit internationally – played by Charlotte De Witte, Deborah De Luca and Reiner Zonneveld. Not forgetting releases on the legendary Carl Cox’s Intec like his uplifting 'Free' Remix back in 2019.
Monika Kruse’s Terminal M imprint has been Patrik’s main release home since 2018, with 4 EP’s and his track ‘Galactica’ featured on a label VA. His debut with the ‘Discovery’ EP was also his first time Beatport techno chart topper, landing in at the No.3 position. Monika had a crush on Patrik’s release ‘Like Forever’, that she took on the remix duties for the lead track - only adding to this already stellar release package. His track ‚Hope’ remains his best-streamed track with almost 4 million streams via Spotify.
After his huge success on Drumcode with his single release 'Living the Lie', which also starts the label's new DCX series, Patrik is back on Terminal M with more outstanding EP's 'Never Stop' & 'Techno Poem' which both including three punching Dancefloor-Destroyer!
